Imran Sobhan has reviewed films for FrameRate since the magazine's first issue in 2020. A former projectionist who learned cinema from the back of a Dhaka single-screen, he writes about Bangladeshi and world cinema with a critic's rigour and a fan's stamina. He co-hosts The Cut, FrameRate's weekly podcast on how films actually get made, and has sat on the jury of two regional festivals. He still prefers a 35mm print, and will tell you so.
